Losing air in your bicycle tires is a very common occurrence and it can be annoying to have to walk over to a gas station to find an air tank or pump it your yourself with a hand air pump. What if there was a way to turn your bicycle into a self pumping resource for air anytime you need it?
My concept allows for your bicycle to pump air into your tires using the existing brake tubing. The braking system is modified to allow you to press the brake handles, which act as air pumps to your front and back tires. The air pumping system is activated via a dial right on the center of the handlebar of the bicycle. When the air pumping system is activated, the security mechanism engages, locking the bike pedals in place. This security feature keeps you safe since your brakes won't be useable while in "air pump mode". Once you are done filling your tires, simply deactivate pump mode and you can get back to riding.
Feel free to give me feedback on this concept, especially my fellow bicycle riders! :)
